Nova Page is local-first. Your dashboard content stays on your device; only limited account and purchase data is processed online when you choose to use an account or Premium.

1. Who we are

Nova Page is a Chrome new-tab extension created and operated by Yevhenii Horovyi, an independent developer based in Ukraine (“Nova Page,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Policy covers the Nova Page extension, its website, account features, and related support.

2. Information stored locally

Nova Page is designed so the content of your dashboard remains on your device. Depending on the features you use, local data may include:

  • groups, shortcuts, website addresses, layouts, appearance settings, and preferences;
  • notes, tasks, sticky notes, quotes, flashcards, timer data, and other widget content;
  • images and backgrounds you choose or upload;
  • weather locations and preferences;
  • open-tab information used by the optional Tabs widget;
  • bookmark folders and links you choose to import; and
  • backup files you choose to export or import.

This information is stored in Chrome extension storage or other browser-local storage. Nova Page does not upload or synchronize your dashboard, notes, tasks, shortcuts, images, browsing history, open tabs, bookmarks, or backup files to Nova Page servers.

Because we do not receive your local dashboard content, we cannot view or recover it. You can remove it by editing or resetting Nova Page, clearing extension data, or uninstalling the extension.

3. Account and Firebase data

Free features do not require an account. If you create or use a Nova Page account, Google Firebase provides authentication and entitlement services. Depending on the account actions you take, Firebase and Nova Page may process:

  • your email address;
  • your account display name and provider profile-photo URL, when available;
  • a Firebase user identifier and authentication status;
  • technical authentication data such as sign-in timestamps and security tokens;
  • your Free or Premium entitlement status.

Passwords are submitted to Firebase Authentication and are not visible to Nova Page in plain text. Firestore is used for minimal account and entitlement records. It is not used for cloud synchronization of your dashboard content.

If you choose a custom account avatar from your computer, Nova Page crops and compresses it and stores it only in this browser's extension storage for your Firebase user ID. The custom image is not uploaded to Firebase or Nova Page servers and replaces the provider photo shown in the extension.

4. Purchases and Paddle

When Premium purchasing becomes available, payments will be processed by Paddle, which acts as the Merchant of Record. Paddle may collect information required to complete and administer a purchase, such as your name, email address, country, billing address, payment method details, tax information, and transaction information.

Nova Page does not receive your full card or payment-account details. We may receive limited purchase data from Paddle, including a customer or transaction identifier, product purchased, payment status, refund status, country, and the email associated with the purchase. We use this information to verify Premium access, prevent fraud, provide support, and meet legal or accounting obligations.

5. Chrome permissions

Nova Page uses browser permissions only for user-facing features:

  • Storage and unlimited storage: save dashboard settings and local images.
  • System display: adapt the board to connected displays and work areas.
  • Tabs (optional): show and switch between open tabs in the Tabs widget.
  • Bookmarks (optional): let you select a bookmark folder and import its links.
  • Geolocation (optional): provide a location for weather features.

You may deny or revoke optional permissions. The related feature may become unavailable, while the rest of Nova Page continues to work.

6. Online feature providers

When you request an online feature, your browser may connect directly to third-party services:

  • Open-Meteo and MET Norway for location search and weather data;
  • Google Favicon service for shortcut and search-engine icons;
  • Unsplash for remote background images, when selected;
  • your chosen search engine when you submit a search; and
  • websites or media providers that you choose to open or load.

Those providers may receive the requested location, coordinates, domain, search query, or media request, together with technical request data such as your IP address and browser information. Their own privacy policies govern their processing.

7. Website hosting, analytics, and cookies

The Nova Page website is hosted through Netlify. Netlify may process technical request information as the hosting provider. Nova Page does not currently place advertising cookies, run behavioral advertising, or include product analytics or third-party tracking pixels on this website or in the extension.

8. How we use and share information

We use online account and purchase information only to provide authentication, verify and maintain Premium access, respond to product-support requests, prevent misuse, support Paddle's handling of transaction adjustments, comply with law, and operate or secure the service.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use or transfer browsing activity for advertising, credit decisions, or unrelated profiling. Information is shared only with service providers needed for the purposes above, when you direct us to do so, or when disclosure is required by law.

9. Retention and security

Local dashboard data remains on your device until you delete it or clear the extension. Account and entitlement records are retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward when needed for security, support, fraud prevention, or legal obligations. Paddle may retain transaction records under its own legal obligations.

We use reasonable safeguards and HTTPS for online requests, but no storage or transmission method is completely secure. Avoid placing highly sensitive information in dashboard widgets and keep exported backups secure.

10. Your choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal information. You can also:

  • use Nova Page Free without creating an account;
  • edit or delete locally stored dashboard content;
  • deny or revoke optional browser permissions;
  • request deletion of your Nova Page account information;
  • contact Paddle about information it processes as Merchant of Record; and
  • uninstall Nova Page at any time.

11. International processing

Firebase, Paddle, Netlify, and other providers may process information in countries other than your own. Their data-transfer safeguards and privacy terms apply to their processing.

12. Children

Nova Page is a general productivity tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Please contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information to Nova Page.

13. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy when Nova Page, its business model, service providers, or applicable law changes. The date above identifies the latest revision. Material changes will receive any additional notice required by law.
